Education

Tertiary: IBM Computer Training Centre, 1991 to 1992 (certificate in PC installation and repairs, software maintenance and file management systems)
University: N'Jala University College (USL) (Diploma, Hardware & Electronics)

Work in Industry
Yusif Karama taught various subjects to students at the Canally Computer Training School including Application Software Packages (MS Windows 95/98); Microsoft Office Packages (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); the internet; and web-design skills. He also served as a software instructor in Application Systems for the IBM Institute.

Yusif Karama has served with many companies in Sierra Leone. He worked for the MCH/EPI as a Computer Technician Contractor and from 1997 to 2003 he worked at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in Sierra Leone, responding to emergency calls and
routine maintenance and service on computers and accessories. Mr. Karama was also an IT consultant for Legal Institutions in Freetown. From 1997 to 2004, Mr. Karama worked as the premier Computer Technician/Consultant at the Sierra Leone Postal Services Ltd (SALPOST) where he routinely checked and applied preventive maintenance and service on computers and accessories (hardware and software).
He also gave advice on procurement and utilization of computer equipment, and
he carried out detailed interior inspection of the Company's computer equipment
and peripherals.

Since 1999-to-Date he has diligently served in the capacity of Training and Technology Team Head, coordinating software training programs for iEARN SL students in all the Western Area schools, and more recently, in the provincial towns and districts.

Yusif Karama is a passionate speaker when it comes to advocating for the use of
Information technology in schools as a potent force for social change and economic development. He has delivered several speeches at iEARN certification ceremonies, Taking Information Technology (TIG) events in Freetown, and at various fora.
